About the Department

The Department of Mathematics was established in 2007 with the introduction of the B.Sc. Mathematics programme with a sanctioned strength of 35 students. Owing to the growing demand for higher studies in Mathematics, the M.Sc. Mathematics programme was introduced in 2012 with a sanctioned strength of 33 students. The department is committed to providing quality education through a strong curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Along with core mathematical concepts, students are trained in modern computational and technical skills such as MATLAB programming and LaTeX coding, which enhance their analytical, research, and documentation abilities. The department aims to develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and research aptitude among students, preparing them for higher studies, competitive examinations, and diverse career opportunities. Mathematics graduates have excellent scope in fields such as teaching, research, banking, insurance, data analytics, software industries, finance, actuarial science, statistics, and government services. With the increasing demand for mathematical and computational skills in today's technology-driven world, the department provides a strong foundation for students to build successful and rewarding careers.
