About the Department
As a dynamic and young department, since 2019 the Department of Botany is dedicated to exploring the fascinating world of plant sciences. We offer a comprehensive three-year undergraduate course designed to help students build a strong foundation in plant biology, ecology, and environmental science. With a sanctioned strength of 40 students for our UG program, we ensure that every student receives personal attention and high-quality education. Our curriculum focuses entirely on delivering the best bachelor's experience, dedicating all our resources to our undergraduate students. Our department provides excellent academic and practical facilities to support student learning. We take immense pride in our exceptional teaching staff, as all our faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees, bringing expert knowledge and research experience directly to the classroom. To complement this expert instruction, we feature a well-equipped botanical laboratory where students can engage in hands-on experiments, microscopic studies, and plant analysis. We actively prepare our students for their future by offering dedicated career guidance and robust placement support. After completing their degree, students have many great job opportunities. They can work as Plant Ecologists, Agricultural Consultants, Conservationists, or Horticulturists. Graduates are also well-equipped for roles in forestry, environmental management, botanical research, or for pursuing competitive exams. The Department of Botany is committed to shaping the next generation of plant scientists and environmental stewards by providing a perfect balance of expert academic instruction, practical laboratory skills, and career readiness.
